In 1857, Agoston Haraszthy strode out on the grassy hills above San Francisco Bay and staked his claim to what would become one of the finest wine regions in the world. His creation, Buena Vista, was California’s first premium winery, and through the years we’ve been the first in many winemaking discoveries.
In 1969, we began investing in a then–obscure corner of Napa and Sonoma counties now known as Carneros. It wasn’t long until Carneros gained recognition as one of the world’s premier appellations. Today, the Buena Vista Estate continues to push the boundaries of grape growing, winemaking technique and philosophy.
