In the cooler growing region of Carneros, the subtle and complex character of the often finicky Pinot Noir is fully expressed. Diversity is the key to the fine Pinot Noir. And that starts with a dozen clones, planted on 180 acres, divided into 40 individual blocks. In the winery, small lots are kept separate to ensure each clone is expressed fully. The result is a plush and graceful wine, with aromas of strawberries, red raspberries and hints of earth evident in the nose. This Pinot is well–balanced, with layers of strawberry jam highlighted vanilla and spice.
Because of its complex fruit character and lower tannins, Pinot Noir is one of the most versatile food wines made. Try our Carneros Estate Pinot Noir with fire roasted tomato soup, grilled salmon, quiche Lorraine, pork tenderloin or your favorite vegetarian dishes.
