Hand harvest at night from our 1000-acre Estate vineyard in the heart of Carneros. Set along a south-facing hillside overlooking the San Francisco Bay, this breathtaking property has more than 100 blocks delineated by geology and topography.

Winemaking

The Pinot Gris grapes were hand harvested at night on our estate vineyards, then whole cluster pressed.  Cold fermentation was completed in stainless steel tanks to maintain fruit intensity and brightness.  5% of the juice was transferred to older barrels for fermentation gaining complexity and richness.

Winemaker's Notes

Pinot Gris is a beautifully bright, crisp and flavorful wine – absolutely perfect for the warm days of summer. The 2007 release shows lovely aromas of nectarine and bright citrus, with hints of orange marmalade and floral tones. There is a nice acidity in the mouth, with subtle mineral notes accenting flavors of Meyer lemon and warm peach that last through the finish. A perfect summer sipper to enjoy well-chilled on its own, Pinot Gris’ bright acidity and piercing citrus tones make it a wonderful companion to delicate fish and seafood dishes. Just 670 cases were made.
